Fake Advertisements

We always know advertisements are fake.. They are made to show the advertised product in the best possible light.. Keyword: possible! So more often than not products we purchased are not exactly (sometimes even quite far from) the same one we saw in the advertisements. But that's all good cause we know advertisements are made to attract buyers.

But today... I learnt the extent of how fake it can get!

Remember the good old Oreo Cookie ad? The one where one kid was teaching the other kid how to enjoy his Oreo... "Twist it... Lick it... and DUNK!"

Well I tried it out today (for first time) and it's all a lie! Do you know how much effort it takes to twist and separate the two pieces??! Geez.. I definitely dont remember seeing the kid struggling to twist! His came off like nobody's business!

And then there's the licking part.. Remember how the cream only stays on one side of the cookie? HA! You've guessed it.. another LIE! When the cookies separate.. both sides will have cream. It doesnt come off nice and smooth on just one side..

So the conclusion:
That Oreo ad is a big lie! But at the end of the day I'll still eat it anyway... Afterall it's not like I have the time to twist, lick and dunk everytime I eat it right? :p

Comments:
Hui Mei here :).

The "twist" doesn't work too well, yes. But the "lick" and "dunk", I've never had any problems :)

Hui Mei: Do you mean to say your cream only sticks to one side??

Ann: Haha.. Oreo aficionados! No wonder...

Will: Geez! The twisting part is tough ok! And anyway, I doubt I'll be able to go through the whole pack in one go..
