This is a word (along with a few others) that never fails to remind me of Prof Hare and ECO 105 back in first year! :)
Today being the 'Chang Festival' I started the day off with Bak Chang for breakfast early in the morning and was out of the house by 8 am. It was not by choice but the entire morning and part of the early afternoon was 'wasted' in a very unproductive manner: Waiting!
BUT.. we made up for it by having THREE things that I really want to eat for lunch :D Started off with 'Sang Meen' (and ''Yin Yong") and Hainanese Chicken Rice in Tho Yuen followed by the all famous Penang Road Cendol! Yao hao fok! Hee~

..if really things worked this way...
.... if each of us really gets to meet 5 people who would explain to us why things happened the way they did in our lifetime after we die...
...... if really everything happened for a reason...
........ if our lives are really so intricately connected...
.......... if really each and everyone of us had in our lifetime unknowingly saved at least one person... and probably caused the death of another...
............ if it were really true... who are the 5 people you would expect to meet in heaven?

Was supposed to wake up early to 'yam char' in B'worth this morning.. But since I got back.. waking up before/around 8 has became a norm.. so I didnt really have to wake up early so to speak :p The 'cheong fun' was pretty good.. and with the sambal it was even better :)
Also had Belacan Chicken during lunch.. and kuih bakul for tea :) I am under the impression that I've been over-eating the past few days.. or at least I'm being offerred food throughout the day before I feel hungry enough to look for food.. (and I have not the will-power to resist) Ahh.. living at home! :)
Read "Tuesdays with Morrie". I thought it was a really good book! Now I'm looking forward to finishing the other Mitch Albom book waiting in line :)
I arrived on the 24th and today is the 28th. That's exactly 5 days.. and in the past 5 days I have managed to sustain 5 separate bruises, one per day... and I dont mean on average... Am I not used to the place or am I just clumsy? Sigh.. Mom said she'll make tin chat for me tomorrow.. I told her she will probably have nothing to lose and everything to gain if she decides to make it the day after tomorrow.. since it'll more likely than not be helpful in treating my (up-coming) 6th bruise :p

List of food worth mentioning today:
"Yau Char Kuai" for breakfast this morning..
"Old Town White Coffee" with lunch..
Bak Kut Teh for dinner :)
I've decided to try and be less picky about food.. So far I've been able to live by it since I came back... Just hope it'll last.
Watched X-Men 3 this morning with a couple of my old secondary school friends. Too many people died in the movie.. Sigh... But meeting HC, Stef, RK and Ally was fun. It's nice how we can still be so comfortable with each other even though we havent met for ~ 2 years.. with minimal (if any) contact in between. Ah.. the advantages of being in the same class for 6 years of your teenage life :)
Living in TO has 'changed' me.. I realized today I take so many things there for granted. Like how I can find recycle bins almost everywhere.. How people are not allowed to smoke in-doors (This lady and her bf lit up 3 or 4 ciggies btw them in 20 mins.. I almost died.. or wished I was dead) and the public toilets... nuff said!
Interesting note: Penang is the only place I know where people unconsciously, easily and naturally carry out a normal conversation switching back and forth between English, Malay, and Hokkien.. sometimes even switching mid-sentence! Haha.. I think it's pretty cool :)

Finally had "char kuey teow" this morning. It was abit sub-standard I'd say.. Gotta go for a better one next time. Had "lontong" for lunch.. I'm trying to come up with a things to eat list :)
Made plans to meet up with some friends tomorrow to catch X-men 3. Seems like alot of them are not back in Pg now.. Sigh.. Still havent been able to get in touch with KX and TK. Wonder where did they go.. But did talk to KC for awhile last night.. Still waiting for Stef to come online..
For some odd reason, this time around, everything here just seem smaller than it used to be. I must be getting too used to 'Canadian size' :p

Im back.. The first thing that hit me when I stepped off the plane in Penang ystday (the few meters before I stepped into the airport and the world of a/c) was the humidity! And the first sign that said home was : "Ketibaan Antarabangsa/Domestik" Hahaha..
The long flight was probably as pleasant as it could get. AC has finally caught up with other airlines in terms of having personal screens (no more neckaches) and serving more decent food. And better yet.. the direct flight to HK flies over the top.. so it's faster than flying across the Pacific! YAY :)
Home feels like home.. and yet also a little foreign at the same time.
I saw a lizard last night! Another sign of being home.. I guess this are things you dont think about when you're away.. It's not like I miss having lizards or anything.. But it's a familiar sight to return to? :p But the mosquito bites are quite another thing.. Never been a fan of polka dots!

I just noticed this past weekend that my soon to be 9 year old niece listens to songs that I listen to. Hahaa.. I dont know whether I should be amused or horrified. Probably a mixture of both. I wonder what happened to the generation gap in music people used to talk about. I most certainly am not seeing it now :p
So the weekend was wasted away in front of the tv. So much so I've been dubbed a tv addict. Hahaha.. the irony!
Rediscovered Jamaican food. Havent had it for the longest time and the Jerk Chicken was really good.. Yum :p~
I need to do something about my sleep pattern. It's been pretty screwed up lately.. Sigh.

So my exams are FINALLY O-V-E-R! :)
Any 3 hrs mcq exams with 101 questions sounds bad enough.. but it's IMM... and that just made it so much worse! Sigh.. But.. it's over!! Heck.. I did all I could.. The rest would depend on whether the rest of the ppl did as badly (haha) and on any adjustments they might make..
Current plan: bake up a storm :)
